About Tanjay City

A 4th-class component city in Negros Oriental, 31 km north of Dumaguete and seat of the 2nd Congressional District. Nicknamed the "City of Professionals" for its well-educated residents — about 84,593 people across 24 barangays.

Tanjay is celebrated for its signature bodbod, a sweet sticky-rice delicacy, and was officially chartered on April 1, 2001.
